Meet some of the awesome ladies leading the Industry4.0 Design Team!

Nina DeSouza — Internal Communications Coordinator

Hi, I’m Nina, a 2021 Management Engineering student at UWaterloo and the Internal Communications Coordinator for Industry 4.0. I’m ridiculously excited about using math to solve real problems, so it’s no surprise that my favourite courses to date have been MSCI 121: Introduction to Computer Programming, and MSCI 331: Introduction to Optimization. Creative yet methodical problem solving has also been what made my first two co-ops (process improvement in a distribution centre and automated software testing with a little dev-ops thrown in) such awesome experiences. I love my program because of the variety of courses I get to take and the diverse co-op opportunities available.

Zoe Nahmiash — Team Manager

Hi, I’m Zoe. I study management engineering at the University of Waterloo. I joined this team to help students learn more about our amazing program and gain exposure to concepts such as optimization and data analytics. I firmly believe that being “good” isn’t sufficient to truly succeed in the world we live in, which is why I actively look to improve processes, communications and technologies in every organization I am a part of. I’ve done co-ops in a number of fields including continuous improvement, IT and sales. I hope to bring my experience and knowledge to this team to create a challenging yet highly informative competition.

Deanna Danelon — Marketing Lead

Hi, I’m Deanna, a student at the University of Waterloo studying Management Engineering. I love being involved outside of school and chose to join the Industry 4.0 team so that I could learn skills related to Management Engineering, as well as be a part of building a competition for High School students. Being the Marketing Co-lead in Industry 4.0 provides me the opportunity to reach out to students about our competition, as well as educate students on what it is like to be in Management!

Remi Shah — Marketing Lead

Hey, I’m Remi. I’m currently in 2B Management Engineering at the University of Waterloo, I went to Rick Hansen Secondary School and Management Engineering was my first choice when deciding which degree I’d wanted to pursue. Management Engineering is a little bit of a hidden gem at Waterloo with many aspects to love; combining multiple engineering disciplines and the sense of community within the program were the main factors that influenced my decision. Being the Marketing Co-Lead for Industry 4.0 is great because I get to reach out to prospective schools and inform high school students about the program through the competition, which hopefully results in a lot more future Management Engineers!
